Friday morning, I got a 20-minute ride in a hot air balloon, as part of the Centennial celebration for the City of Seminole, Oklahoma.
saintseminole > This beautiful and friendly creature was one of our greeters when we landed after a 20-minute balloon ride over Seminole, Oklahoma. He wasn't sure about what had just landed in his field, but he was polite enough about it.
saintseminole > After our relatively smooth landing in an open field, some of our first greeters were four horses. They were very wary and curious about what had dropped from the sky into their home.

Fortunately, my boss -- who had ridden with us -- knew the owners of the property where we landed. They were friendly, and more than a little excited that we'd "chosen" their field to land in.

In the center of the photo, the Oklahoma Centennial balloon lands in an open field, while another balloon scoots on toward another field in the background.

Once down, the balloonists hope the property owners will be cooperative. They usually are.
